What is asbestos neshap?

Not legal advice: Asbestos NESHAP dictate the allowable amount of RACM that may be present in a renovation or demolition.

NESHAP—National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants
RACM—Regulated Asbestos-Containing Material

If the minimum, or “threshold,” amount of asbestos is found, abatement is required to comply with federal regulations. The maximum allowable amount is 260 linear feet or 160 square feet of RACM. If an asbestos inspection determines an unacceptable amount of RACM, the local clear air regulatory agency must be notified. A list of agencies is provided by the NACAA.
