What does sic semper tyrannis mean? ~KLS+JRM+KJM~

The Latin phrase Sic semper tyrannis is translated as Thus always to tyrants, but death to all tyrants is what was usually meant by the phrase.

The phrase is said to have been uttered by Marcus Junius Brutus upon the assassination of Julius Caesar.

Sic semper tyrannis has been used by European nationals as a rallying cry for independence against abuse of power. In the United States, the words have been immortalized by John Wilkes Booth, shouted during his assassination of Abraham Lincoln at Fords Theater.

Sic semper tyrannis is the motto for the state of Virginia.
