Old superstitions and myths pertaining to itchy palms is that it means money.
An itching right palm means money is coming in. Part of that belief also states that you shouldn’t scratch your palm if it’s itching or you may keep the money from coming.
On the other hand, an itching left palm means money to be paid out, and to stop the left palm from itching, the myth says to rub the palm on a piece of wood.

Speaking of a palm likely to itch, artist David Cata has developed an unorthodox method for memorializing the faces of his loved ones. Instead of painting a portrait or sculpting their forms, he's opted to stitch their likenesses into the palm of his hand, physically sewing the eyes and smiles of his family, friends and girlfriend onto his own hand.
