Is southwest airlines e ticket?

Yes, Southwest Airlines is credited with offering the world’s first e-ticket (a digital ticket) in 1994.

Electronic tickets or E-tickets is nothing more than a reservation in an airline’s computer system, one that advises them you have a ticketed seat confirmed on a particular flight.

When you have an e-ticket you just need to provide a valid passport or government issued ID upon checking in so the agent can pull up your record in their system. Traveling with e-tickets gives the benefit of not having to have valuable paper tickets with you when traveling.

Having e-tickets give you the option of checking in for your flight at a self-service check-in kiosk before your departure and it allows you to print your boarding pass in advance and it helps you eliminate the long lines at the airline ticket counter.

According to the International Air Transport Association, 97% of all tickets worldwide are now issued as e-tickets.

In the news, a Southwest Airlines jet that made a hard landing at LaGuardia Airport touched down on its front nose wheel before the sturdier main landing gear in back touched down. Check out details at The Huffington Post.
