is lizard lick towing staged?

Lizard Lick Towing and Recovery is a real company, as are its employees, but truTV has not disclosed whether not Lizard Lick Towing is entirely staged. The disclaimer on the network's website suggests that the show is not.

TruTV has said on their website that their shows "feature real-life situations", hence their network theme "Not Reality. Actuality." TruTV programming is advertised to be different from typical reality shows, which often involve highly staged events or contests.

Marc Juris, truTV’s executive vice president and general manager further explains, “What’s critical is that the people who are the main characters are real. These are real teams. This is their profession, and these are their stories.”

Critics still question how real the show is featuring Lizard Lick Towing and Recovery company’s real-life employees. Many believe that at least some staging takes place because nearly every repossession filmed involves a violent confrontation and when local authorities are actually called no one ever seems to get arrested.
