How much does the NFL chain guys make a year?

While the salary of the NFL chain guys (chain gang/chain crew/sideline crew) is not listed online, we found that some are earning around $50 a game. But it will still vary based on the location, experience and etc.

Since there are 16 games in an NFL Regular Season, therefore chain guys who are earning around $50 in a game would get a total of around $800 by the end of the season.

They are the officials on the sideline that hold the yardage markers. They are referred to as the "chain gang" because the first down markers are held together by a 10 yard metal chain.

Working on the chain gang is a unique opportunity for any football parent. In many cases, parents are asked to volunteer in some capacity at home games – such as working the concession stand or selling raffle tickets – but the chain gang is an opportunity to help at both home and away games.
