How much does a follicular unit extraction with neograft hair transplant cost? The range in prices and why?

The cost of a hair transplant procedure that utilizes a NeoGraft FUE machine will cost $12,000 to $20,000.

NeoGraft is a machine designed to automate the laborious extraction and implantation processes of hair transplant surgery. While the machine saves time, it also carries a very large price tag: roughly $80,000.

Traditional hair transplant surgery will cost from $2.50-$10.00 per graft. The total price will vary due to factors such as the size of the area being treated as well as the amount of hairs per follicular unit grafted.

The cost will also increase as the method becomes more labor intensive. For example, FUE is more labor intensive, and therefore more expensive, than Strip Harvesting.

FUE (follicular unit extraction) involves moving hair from a bald-resistant area (donor site) to a bald area one follicular unit at a time. One unit contains 1 to 4 hairs, with the average being 2.4. This process is obviously very labor intensive and time consuming.

Strip Harvesting or the Strip Technique is a faster, but still highly detailed process, by which follicular units are removed from the donor site in larger strips and then divided into individual units and transplanted.
