How many quarts of oil does a 6.4L Powerstroke take ?
The 6.4L Power Stroke can accommodate 15 quarts of oil.
The 6.4L Power Stroke was presented for the 2008 model year. The overall questionable reliability and strict emissions regulations of the 6.0L were primary reasons that presented a need for a new, clean slate engine. Cleaner and quieter than its predecessors, the 6.4L Power Stroke was the first engine make known to the market that utilized twin turbochargers from the factory, and remains the only engine to feature such a turbocharger arrangement.
Furthermore, this was the first Power Stroke to use a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in order to nearly eliminate particulate emissions (soot).
Fans of Ford’s F-Series Super Duty trucks would be happy to hear that some new changes have been implemented for the 2015 model year, the most major being an upgrade to Ford’s Power Strike diesel V8. The turbocharged 6.7L V8 oil burner gets a larger turbocharger allowing for a reduction in complexity with the exhaust manifold. The turbocharger’s oil and cooling lines have also been simplified, which translate into easier maintenance and better functionality. Find out more here.
