As it turns out, it is no longer trading as it was reported that Meister Brau ceased brewing in Chicago, the last brewery in the city is gone.

Meister Brau was once the most popular beer produced in Chicago. It was a product of the Hand Brewing Company, founded in 1891 by Prussian immigrant Peter Hand, on Chicago's North Avenue.
As the Meister Brau brand continued to make history, the brewery was then purchased by investors in 1967 and renamed for its Meister Brau flagship.
Around the same time, a biochemist from Rheingold Brewery in New York brought his formulation for 'Gablinger's Diet Beer' to Meister Brau; it became the first large-scale 'Lite' beer, but the writing was on the wall for Meister Brau; it was sold to Miller in 1972, who tinkered with the formula and relaunched the product as Miller Lite. Anheuser-Busch, the brewing company that makes Kirin, will have to reimburse customers who bought the beer anytime between Oct. 25, 2009, and Dec. 17, 2014, over alleged deceptive packaging, according to a preliminary settlement approved recently.
Anheuser-Busch has agreed to the settlement, which comes in response to a class-action lawsuit filed in October by Miami residents Lady J. Suarez and Gustavo E. Oliva, who said that they didn’t realize Kirin wasn’t actually imported from Japan because of its packaging. Read more at the Huffington Post.
