did Mel Blunt of the Pittsburgh Steelers kill two wide recievers

Steelers DB Mel Blount, 1970-83, didn't kill any wide receivers, but his rugged play made him one of the most feared NFL players and caused some rule changes. In 1972 he became known for his “bump-and-run” pass defense. in which he would overpower pass receivers and effectively shut down half of the field. Halfway through his career the rules were changed such that "harassing a receiver" became illegal. The nickname for this rule was the Mel Blount Rule.
