Are june bugs blind?

Although June bugs fly around clumsily bumping into things, they are in fact not blind.

Found all over North America, they hide in trees during daylight hours, can swarm in great numbers after the sun has set, and are attracted to bright lights.

June bugs received their common name from emerging in great quantities in the month of June.

June bugs may have a total lifespan of up to four years, living for two to three years in the ground as larva (where they eat things like plant roots and grasses) before surfacing to become an adult.

If you have a pet toad or lizard, June bugs make a tasty treat for them.
